Medical Staff Services | Memorial Medical Center, Modesto, CA

Onsite role. Open to travelers. Day shift. 8-6:30 PST

Summary

Independent contributor within the Medical Staff Office. Ensures timely, compliant credentialing, privileging, and reappointments for providers and allied health professionals. Provides committee and departmental support aligned with Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, Joint Commission standards, CMS, Title 22, and department policies.

Reporting and team

Reports to the Medical Staff Manager. Works in a team that includes one manager and three coordinators. No direct reports.

What you will do

Process new appointment and reappointment files from intake through verification and presentation.
Coordinate privileging activities, including verification of training, experience, and competency.
Collect, analyze, and follow up on primary source verifications to support peer review and decision-making.
Prepare agendas, packets, minutes, and follow-up for assigned departments and committees; attend meetings as required.
Maintain accurate data in credentialing systems and logs; update rosters, call schedules, and status reports as assigned.
Safeguard credentials files and PHI; uphold confidentiality requirements.
Support special MSO projects and provide limited CME administrative backup if requested.
Partner with medical staff leaders, providers, quality, HR, and compliance to meet timelines and standards.

Required qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two or more years of recent, relevant medical staff services or provider credentialing experience.
Working knowledge of Joint Commission Medical Staff standards, CMS Conditions of Participation, Title 22, and medical staff governance.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHR environments; experience with Echo, Cactus, or similar credentialing databases.
Strong organization, documentation, and follow-through. Clear, professional communication with physicians and stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines independently while supporting team priorities.

CPCS or CPMSM certification.
Experience supporting committee meetings, minutes, and action tracking in a hospital MSO.
Familiarity with Epic and Sutter workflows is a plus.

Work conditions

Onsite at Memorial Medical Center. Role is administrative and does not provide patient care. Occasional early or late meetings may occur based on committee schedules. Position requires handling confidential information in compliance with HIPAA.
